PROFILE - SHORT DESCRIPTION
Gdańsk University of Technology (Gdańsk Tech) is the largest technical university in the Pomeranian Region and one of the oldest technical universities in Poland. The impressive 77-hectare University campus is a harmonic combination of 120-years old buildings with XXI century ultramodern premises.
At 8 faculties the University offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral studies conducted in both full-time and part-time systems in various areas of science and technology. The academic offer comprises 37 fields of studies currently offered. Gdańsk Tech provides also 6 fields of undergraduate and 14 fields of graduate studies with English as a medium of instruction. The university’s achievements in the area of R&D translated into increased subsidies under the "Excellence Initiative - Research University" governmental project.
The University maintains high education quality standards – Gdańsk Tech holds the prestigious ECTS Label. It is also the first Polish university to be a member of the CDIO Initiative, founded by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. Gdańsk Tech is also a member of the ENHANCE Alliance (European Universities), CESEAR and EUA. Gdańsk Tech, University of Gdańsk, and Medical University of Gdańsk form the union Fahrenheit Universities.
