PROFILE - SHORT DESCRIPTION
With more than 75 years of rich history the Medical University of Gdańsk (MUG) continues to strive for excellence. It is the largest medical university in northern Poland, educating more than 6300 undergraduate and postgraduate students at 4 Faculties – of Health Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy and the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology. MUG officially holds the status of a research university. It is 1 of 10 universities in Poland and the only medical university which was awarded a place in this prestigious group.
According to the 2023 higher education ranking of the Perspektywy Educational Foundation, the MUG is ranked 2nd among the medical schools in the country and 9th among the top ten of the best Polish state universities. It is also ranked in four major academic rankings: Academic Ranking of World Universities, QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education World University Rankings and U.S. News Best Global Universities Rankings
Medial University of Gdańsk is the most internationalised academic centre in the region with more than 16% of its students coming from all corners of the world. The university offers the following English-language programmes: 6-year M.D. Programme, 5,5-year Master in Pharmacy Programme, 3-year Bachelor of Nursing Programme, 2-year International Master in Sustainable Drug Discovery (S-DISCO), 4-year Doctoral School (Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Sciences) and 1-year Premedical Course.
