Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is the Faculty of Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia. The offer is addressed to high school graduates with clearly defined technical interests and to people working on merchant ships, in shipping agencies, shipyards, business organizations operating energy installations off- and on-shore, as well as to enterprises using measurement and control equipment and built-in IT systems.
The current research issues relate to:
a) construction and operation of machinery (marine power plant), machinery diagnostics, construction and operation of diving equipment and underwater work techniques; the faculty of Mechanical-Electric Engineering has rich experience in the implementation of light alloy construction materials for shipbuilding
b) shock resistance, design of numerical equipment, technologies used in developing materials and elements of construction;
c) control and digital automation, data processing, imaging and transferring in shipboard systems,
d) ship command process support, design and development of integrated systems to control marine power plants;
e) identification and modeling multidimensional objects and use of artificial neuron networks.
Graduate of Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, course: engineering and construction of machines gains knowledge in terms of technology, construction and exploitation of marine machines. It covers theoretical matters as well as ability to use modern computer technics supporting the process of machine designing. Moreover each graduate receives practical knowledge linked with the subjects of work management and organization thanks to which every young engineer is able to fulfill various job requirements and quickly develop his technical skills. Completing this course prepares future engineers for working in any company connected with industry, shipment as well as establishing their own business firms.
